This shy chocolate lab had been seen by several concerned neighbors for a few weeks. They wanted to help him but were unable to catch him on their own. A wonderful neighbor offered to foster him when he was caught, and our awesome rescue partners at Dallas Pets Alive agreed to take him into their program. On Monday night, our Capture Team went out to set up the trap and get this sweet boy off the streets!

Choco is safe with his Good Samaritan, who will adopt him if his owners are not found.

We added a little PSA into this video to explain why we don’t leave our traps unattended. We find that when dogs are first caught, they usually try to escape and if they are left alone too long, they begin to panic. Thanks to the awesome game cameras that we use during captures, we are able to get out of view of the trap (street dogs often wait for their feeders to leave before coming to eat) but still get notifications from the motion-activated cameras and know exactly when a dog has been trapped. These cameras also mean we don’t have to go back to check the trap prematurely, scaring the dog away in the process.

Thank you to everyone who supports Duck Team 6 and our capture efforts!
