Would you like to help Duck Team 6? We have several volunteer opportunities available and could really use your help.
Placement Team Opportunities:
Processing Foster/Adoption Applications
We need people to review the applications, check vet and personal references, flag them for any issues or concerns, and then if appropriate schedule a home visit and/or Meet & Greet with a Duck Dog.
Conducting Home Visits
We need people to check a potential foster or adopter’s home for any issues with fencing, escape routes, or other areas that might need modification before a Duck Dog comes to stay.
Dog Walkers
We need people to walk our dogs in boarding and help socialize them. Dogs that are in boarding for too long can go “kennel crazy” and makes it hard for them to show their best sides when we take them on visits with potential adopters. Walking them and taking them out to play daily helps reduce some of that pent up energy.
Transporting Dogs
Most of the Ducks and Fosters work during the day and we need people to pick up dogs and take them to their vet appointments, take them back home, transport between boarding and foster homes, etc. We need transporters who are extra careful with our dogs, recognizing they might be flight risks and will not allow any opportunity for them to run when moving them from location to location.
Marketing Team Opportunities
Creating Marketing Videos for Duck Dogs
We need someone with video editing skills (iMovie, Vimeo, Movie Maker, or any other software) to create videos of the dogs in our program that need forever or foster homes.
Assisting at Fundraising Events
Do you enjoy talking with people and sharing your passion for rescue? We are looking for volunteers who can attend fundraising events, help set up and tear down our tents and tables, answer questions about Duck Team 6 and street dog rescue, and sell our merchandise.
Capture Team Opportunities
Request for Assistance Liaisons
DT6 gets several requests for help each week, and we need someone who can be that first point of contact and help them through the process of getting a dog off the streets. Many times people email us without knowing our policy of only picking up dogs who have a safe place to go. They may not be familiar with rescue groups, adoption events, sharing photos, finding a foster, etc. We also need people to walk people through the process of establishing a routine for the dogs so that they can develop trust. Essentially, the liaisons will counsel a person through the process and then notify us when the dog has a foster and DT6 can deploy.
The Outreach Coordinator is such an integral part of our team. We need someone who can be our primary point of contact for our Outreach initiatives, including Donation Bins, Vaccination Clinics, Spay Days, Food Assistance, and Community Education. Click here to find out more!

Picking up Food and Donation Supplies
We get offers for donations from all over DFW, and need people who can pick up donations and bring them to our storage facility.
If you have any questions regarding these opportunities, you can email board@duckteam6.org. Please complete our online volunteer form if you are interested in any of the above volunteer opportunities. We look forward to working with you! Semper Woof!!
